Former bandmates Chris and Christa gave us the mighty fine 1975 recording Scandinavian-American Old-Time-Leroy Larson and The Minnesota Scandinavian Ensemble. We learned a few tunes from the CD to perform at Chris & Christa’s now legendary Santa Lucia party. Craig Ruble, fiddler for the Minnesota Scandinavian Ensemble learned this tune from another well-known Minnesota fiddler, Selmer Ramsey.

Matt was interested in a darker sound than the original recording so, I down tuned my fiddle to FCGD. Matt’s guitars are tuned down a whole step and we took the tune down a whole step from Dm to Cm.
Mike Brown’s beautiful harmony piano parts are the highlight of this tune.
